Integrative Peptide Therapy for Immune Support and More

Peptides are naturally occurring short chains of 40-50 amino acids linked together. When this chain is longer than 50 amino acids, the molecule is called a protein.

Peptides are signaling molecules and are involved in regulating many different systems in the body and have been shown to be extremely safe in helping to improve, normalize or optimize various specific functions in the body.

The use of peptides can be helpful in supporting immune function, memory, weight loss, energy production, sleep, musculoskeletal repair, sexual health, mood and more.

Here are some highlights about two oral peptides I use in my clinical practice.

BPC-157 Pure (Integrative Peptides)

Body Protecting Compound, or BPC-157 is a naturally occurring peptide found in human gastric juices. It is made up of 15 amino acids.

BPC-157 is anti-inflammatory, helps increase blood vessel production and collagen production. It is helpful in promoting healing and recovery of injured muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.

BPC-157 is commonly considered a gut healing peptide and can be helpful in treating leaky gut, food intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gut infections and other conditions of the GI tract. Because of the gut-brain connection, using BPC-157 to reduce inflammation in the gut and to promote gut healing can also support brain health.

Due to its antimicrobial properties, BPC-157 can be a great addition to the treatment protocol when addressing chronic infections, particularly if viruses are an issue.

TB4-Frag (Integrative Peptides)

TB4 is a thymic peptide and stands for Thymosin Beta-4. Thymosin is a hormone secreted by the thymus gland.

The TB4 peptide is made up of 43 amino acids and has poor oral absorption due to its large size. TB4-Frag helps solve the absorption problem!

Consisting of only 4 amino acids, TB4-Frag is only a fragment of the full TB4 peptide molecule, which makes it readily absorbable when taken orally.

TB4-Frag is found to be 10 times more potent compared to the full length TB4.

TB4-Frag is an immune modulator, anti-inflammatory and can be helpful when people are struggling with various sensitivities and intolerances. Because TB-4 Frag helps heal and repair tight junctions in the GI tract and it may help reduce food reactivity.

Additionally, TB4-Frag has anti-fibrotic qualities and helps prevent hypercoagulability often seen in people dealing with chronic illnesses. It crosses the blood-brain-barrier and can be helpful in breaking up biofilms.

TB-4 and BPC-157 have a very synergistic effect and can complement each other when used together.

Both BPC-157 Pure and TB4-Frag from Integrative Peptides can be taken with or without food. Absorption of the supplements maybe better when taken on an empty stomach.
